Here is my Unboxing of the Perception Neuron Pro Motion Capture Suit ~ When it came in the mail, I was super excited!! I was pleasantly surprised to find no cables connecting the Neurons and no hub ~ I am going to be using this for my short films and for the animation work for the Adventures of Nkoza and Nankya ~ Thank you so so much to Noitom for their support on this journey to realize my dream, and take the vision from a dream to reality. This suit is going to make a major difference in turning out the character animation.

This is a quick voice acting session I did with the dialogue of Napoleon, inspired by Napoleon: Total War Trailer, a video I saw about 8 years ago, that was created using Faceware. In this test, I was trying to see how close I could get using an iPhone X, in iClone using Motion LIVE and Live Face. The results are pretty cool and very promising. This take was raw and unedited, goes to show how much the tech has advanced compared to 8 years ago. I highly recommend iClone and Motion Live, plus Live face as a solution for your short films and cinematics.
iClone has a pretty cool cloth sim engine. I used it in this shot from the first Scifi Short film entitled, “N-aEEXUS” that I did in partnership with Reallusion. I rendered this shot in 3DS Max, using Octane. I am finding myself working more and more with iClone for my animations. I will continue to share my animation journey as I create more short films
Yaaay!! I finally completed it!!! This is the Second Chapter of N-aEEXUS. I wrote, directed and Animated the short film as a one-man team. I played the part of the Commander as a Voice actor and a Motion capture actor, my wife lent her voice to the female characters in the film (Thank you, Sweetheart!!). A Special thanks to the Reallusion team for their awesome technical and software support plus Iray guidance. Thank you to Andreas Muskola for the “move that camera” python script.
In this 2nd Film, I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could render the full short film in Iray and animate all of it using iClone. I used a similar workflow to how I created N-aEEXUS 1, with Character Creator 3, iClone, but switched the rendering to Iray instead of Octane and Redshift. I hope this inspires other indie filmmakers like myself to pursue their storytelling dreams by creating short films with iClone and Iray.
Concept Mech Bot Excavator Drawing – A concept mech bot excavator I drew for #inktober – I was inspired by the praying mantis for my nature inspiration series.
A Concept sci-fi aircraft I drew on tan paper with ink and colored pencils: I was imagining a prototype designed for ground troop support and scouting.
Concept Robot Fishing Eagle Drawing, Daily sketch ~ My love for Robotics and wildlife series: I drew this while taking a mental break from animations and editing work on the second short sci-fi film, NaEEXUS II. I was inspired by the majestic Fishing Eagle. I was imagining what it must feel like from the point of view of the prey, in this case a Fish staring in horror as the fishing eagle descends.. normally fish don’t even know the Eagle is making that fatal dive. If only Fish could scream..
Quest: I am doing this as an exercise to continually put ideas to paper and to use it as an opportunity to practice mechanical and Wildlife anatomy.
These are some early stages as I was fleshing out the idea
Macro Photography ~ Bug Study, Canon DSLR ~ I shot these photos with a Canon 7D and a 100mm F1.4 Macro Lens. I enjoy delving into the the life of creatures, in this case, bugs and a snake I saw at a Zoo. There is something so poetically beautiful, when you get up close and in person with a bugs life. There is so much detail on these creatures that is imperceptible with the naked human eye.
