I am in the animation trenches working hard to bring the Nkoza and Nankya animated TV series to life. Drawing the storyboards and creating the animatics is fun!! I use colored pencils for the drawings and scan them into Photoshop ~ I use the scans for the storyboards and the animatics.
I completed this 48″ x 36″ Silverback Gorilla painting for the Zoo To Do event hosted by the North Carolina Zoo ~ the original painting is going to be available at their Silent Auction, taking place on September 26th. I look forward to attending the event.
July 4th Render ~ Crime scene reconstruction ~ 3D modeling, Texturing and Rendering ~ created with Autodesk 3ds Max using reference photos, rendered with Octane ~ I was imagining an idea of evidence recovered from a river, effects of rust, and water exposure ~ the challenge of recovering finger prints.
Inspiration is all Around Us, look just a little harder ~ Sketch inspired by a Banana ~ Every morning at Breakfast before homeschooling starts and before we work on the Nkoza and Nankya TV Series, I ask my 2 kids what they are grateful for ~ today we all agreed that we are grateful for all the inspiration that is around us ~ while we were chatting, I noticed my daughter picking up a banana to eat, I quickly grabbed my camera, and took a shot of the end where she had just broken off a banana ~ I picked up my sketch pad and quickly sketched this character to show them how something as simple as a banana, can spark an idea of an old character.. in my head I was seeing an old and aging Wakayima… lol!!! Painting is Fun ~ I had a wonderful time with friends at an Artists Uncork’d painting event, we were supposed to paint a set of Big lips, I kind of off-roaded lol!! ~ this is what I was able to paint, oil on canvas ~ some kind of lady villain .. don’t ask me why
