My Art journey in the Diaspora – Believe it or not, I am actually working – as a kid growing up in Mutundwe, Uganda, my late paternal grandma used to find me staring up at the sky, awestruck by the long white trails left behind by distant planes .. and she would jokingly tell me to get my head out of the clouds… I doubt she had any idea where technology was headed… I wish she were here so I could show her this amazing VR tech and say… “Jjajja, labaayo eno tekinolojje…
Quick review of the Unity Adam Demo Character Pack ~ The Free Pack contains re-rigged versions of the characters Adam, Guard and Lu from the amazing Unity Adam Demo.
The Adam demo is a real-time-rendered short film created with the Unity engine by our demo team.
My Tuesday at work, Art Journey in the Diaspora ~ From Concept drawing this parrot character to modeling it in 3D, and then on to animation for VR ~ I am enjoying modeling using the Cintiq, I can only dream of what it will feel like on the upcoming Microsoft Surface Studio ~ for now, this is a whole new experience, because I am used to using a wacom tablet ~ being able to sculpt right on the screen is so liberating ~ I feel like hugging this device
Art journey in the Diaspora ~ This morning I took the Perception Neuron Motion capture suit for a test drive at work ~ soooo impressed by the results. A warning to all those planning on getting one, make sure you purchase a Battery pack because it doesn’t come with one, and be prepared to pay some customs dues because it ships from Hong Kong. I am still doing more tests and ironing out some calibration issues ~ the Anti-Magnetic case is also a must have ~ I recorded the un-boxing video, so I will share that on my youtube channel ~ more to come
Tutorial Showing How to Create and Render Volumetric Fog using the Octane 3.0 Plugin for 3DS Max, GPU Render Engine ~ Demonstrating it using the City Environment from my Children’s animated TV series, The Adventures of Nkoza and Nankya ~ http://www.nkozaandnankya.com ~ Check out our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/ASeedForNkozaAndNankyaTVSeries
Volumetric rendering: OctaneRender 3 supports the ability to render particulate matter such as clouds, smoke, fog, and fire with varying densities and introduces a unique native primitive type for incredibly detailed micro-surface displacement volumes and surfaces required to render photorealistic natural and organic materials. Dreamworks’ OpenVDB is also supported for direct in-camera rendering of particle simulations.

Wakayima in his Old Age, ancient Ugandan folk tale, oral tradition – I was imagining an older version of wakayima, a throw back to our very own “Once upon a time….” ~ I grew up listening to the folk tale of Wakayima and Wango, I keep replaying those stories in my mind and image what the characters would look like in their old age.
The shape of the character was inspired by a photo of a ripe banana I took one morning while having breakfast with my 2 kids. Below are the drawing and painting stages.
I painting this environment using my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phone with an S Pen, and Sketchbook Pro. I continue to be amazed at how responsive the S Pen is on this phone, it even supports palm cancelling while in Pen mode, which makes it really fun to work with. It supports multiple layers as well.
Below is the Phone I am using.
