I am so impressed with Octane 4.0 and the new Denoiser feature. I was able to render this Alien animation in the Octane 4.0 Standalone version at less than 30 seconds per frame at a frame size of 1280 x 720. GPU rendering ROCKS!!!
In this video I demonstrate how you can use Zbrush on the iPad Pro, with Tablet Pro and Duet Display to achieve the common commands that require Keyboard shortcuts like Shift, Ctrl.. etc ~
Super Excited!! I am finally able to use Zbrush on my iPad Pro, and sculpt with my Apple Pencil ~ this is a great alternative to those who can’t afford the high end Wacom tablets. The responsiveness is awesome. I tested both on my PC and a MAC, and in both cases Zbrush worked just fine. On the MAC there was some slight lag. Overall the experience has been great.
I modeled this concept boda boda bike during a brain break at work ~ I modeled it in VR (Virtual Reality) using Oculus Medium on the Oculus Rift ~ I call this one “Buggy Boda Boda” ~ Textured and Rendered with 3D coat.
Below is the video showing the modeling workflow in Medium.
Video showing my drawing workflow – Robo Wildlife Ranger series – concept design, drawing and painting – protecting the endangered wildlife, tracking, sniffing for poachers
This is my first 3d sculpt in 2017, I am enjoying sculpting in VR using Oculus Medium, but I still go back to Zbrush, my favorite 3D modeling program ~ I love the wealth of brushes in Zbrush, and love the Forward history saving and playback. Art Journey in the Diaspora ~ Talk about Serendipity – the first Boss who introduced me to computer graphics was an Indian gentleman called Alnoor, a tech visionary, he changed my life when he taught me Photoshop & Corel Draw at the end of the day, each day after we returned to his office all sweaty and dusty, near Uganda House, off of Kampala road, in Uganda – My new boss, at the VR gaming studio where I am working as an Art Director, happens to be a brilliant Indian innovator – he has introduced me to this new world of VR (Virtual Reality) – in both instances, it was a chance meeting, but it was also as a result of being prepared for that moment when opportunity came knocking. That’s why I take seriously every moment I sit down to create a piece of artwork. You just never know who might come knocking… opportunity favors those that are prepared.
My Art Journey in the Diaspora ~ I have been waiting with great anticipation for Quill and the Oculus ~ all I can say is that the way I do art will never ever be the same again, VR has changed that forever ~ imagine an unlimited canvas in all directions, coupled with the sound a pencil or a brush makes when you are drawing or painting ~ now I know what my lunch breaks are going to be like ~ my first creation today was a wire car, just like the ones we used to make in Uganda ~ but this time done in VR… I am going to be recording videos from my creation sessions ~ you have to see it to believe 🙂 ~ thank you Oculus people… like we say in Uganda, “Nze I fear you” hehehehe
A 3D Realism study I did during my lunch break at work ~ I did the Texturing, Lighting and Rendering using Autodesk 3ds Max 2017 and Octane 3.0 Render Engine ~ CREDIT: Scanned Fruit and Bowl model by Ten24
