July 4th Render ~ Crime scene reconstruction ~ 3D modeling, Texturing and Rendering ~ created with Autodesk 3ds Max using reference photos, rendered with Octane ~ I was imagining an idea of evidence recovered from a river, effects of rust, and water exposure ~ the challenge of recovering finger prints.
Inspiration is all Around Us, look just a little harder ~ Sketch inspired by a Banana ~ Every morning at Breakfast before homeschooling starts and before we work on the Nkoza and Nankya TV Series, I ask my 2 kids what they are grateful for ~ today we all agreed that we are grateful for all the inspiration that is around us ~ while we were chatting, I noticed my daughter picking up a banana to eat, I quickly grabbed my camera, and took a shot of the end where she had just broken off a banana ~ I picked up my sketch pad and quickly sketched this character to show them how something as simple as a banana, can spark an idea of an old character.. in my head I was seeing an old and aging Wakayima… lol!!! This character inspired me to create a Digital Version. Check it out at this link: https://www.sowl.com/2016/04/character-design-wakayima-concept/
Painting is Fun ~ I had a wonderful time with friends at an Artists Uncork’d painting event, we were supposed to paint a set of Big lips, I kind of off-roaded lol!! ~ this is what I was able to paint, oil on canvas ~ some kind of lady villain .. don’t ask me why
Much appreciation to the team that organized the event
Nature Study, Painting ~ freedom from the chaos in the world ~ This is part of a nature series I am creating this summer. I will be donating several paintings to contribute to the conservation effort.
A quick Tutorial showing how you can speed up your renders in Maya using the Octane Render Engine ~ I am using Octane to render the scenes for my animated TV series, The Adventures of Nkoza & Nankya, and getting an average of 25 seconds to 30 Seconds on some of my key character shots like the one I am using as a case Study.
A 3D landscape study, entitled “Against All Odds” ~ I had this idea of a seed that had some how found its way on a rock and managed to grow where no one would expect it to flourish ~ with the other trees on the hillside looking on ~ birth of an idea of what’s possible
